DJ + Requests
OK, a server has been set up to broadcast music to a public page. Anyone will be able to listen to the music as they please, but other people will have to supply music to the channel. We would like to have as many people as we can to listen in, so spread the word of the radio! As it was said, the radio will only be up at convenient hours from 5PM - 11PM (weekdays) and most of the day. (weekends)

This forum will double as a request list for the station so give some good ideas of songs you want to hear!

How bout something other than like 80s rock? Maybe some alternative, some foreign, something fresh?
I would love to hear some jack johnson, gorillaz, postal service, just something different.

Re: DJ + Requests
I'm pretty sure we will be able to find something to suit your needs. Most of the things played on the radio are just fillers when nobodies listening, but when we start having around 7+ ppl listening to the radio we start playing the requests. I know for a fact that our Head DJ has some gorillaz so we might be hearing that soon enough. As the radio becomes more popular we will try to have a talk show with the other members of the forum, or even just a chat about some songs or events. So stay tuned...spread the word around!

Alternative/Foreign ---- I throw that type of music into my mix anyway, Pete. You will be satisfied, don't worry.

Re: DJ + Requests
Well when you say foreign would Rammstein be acceptable? I actually only have one gorillaz song, Jack Johnson sounds like a perverted name that someone came up with in middle school. Oh and what type of music because I usually play rock and I've been playing not just 80's rock but all forms of rock in general. And to go alone with what P-Stick said I'm just playing stuff that everyone likes and yes I'm willing to play anything different except rap or Hannah Montana, so don't expect that from me. P-Stick will have to accommodate you guys with that if it's what you want.

Re: DJ + Requests
Well see I noticed a song that you aired for the first time, and I thought to myself, is this what I'm suppose to be playing. I haven't been keeping up with the times, for Christ sake I feel like I'm thirty. Sadly I'm still 15, but I sure as hell could pass as at least 20.
Anyways I can tolerate some forms of rap, like Eminem and the only reason I like him is because I incorporates jokes and humor into all his "songs". and Tupac wasn't bad he actually had talent. Now when you get down to something like that moron that came up with "Ridin' Dirty" I start to realize why high school is important, so we don't get idiots like that. And what the hell did Lil' John get famous from "YEAH!", "OK!" damn if I had tried doing that earlier on I'd be loaded.
But apart from my strong dislike of rap I can still tolerate it, and since we have more than one Dj I'm sure that the different styles that everyone listens to can be spread though this radio, so if someone doesn't agree with my style of music then thats fine. you can ask someone that does appreciate that music to play it. There we go problem solved. Oh and and I just checked my collection for rap and found some, Eminem, Limp Bizkit, Tobymac, D12, Dr.Dre, and Afroman. So I do has some but thats all.

Re: DJ + Requests
Ok now that is what I need to know when someone says they want rap. Thats old school rap that doesn't have stupid lyrics about shooting up a block or killing a hooker. I can tolerate .old school, and I don't mind listening to that. I wouldn't mind streaming that sort of thing. So If someone wants a rap song streamed just tell me the name of the song and I'll air it.

Re: DJ + Requests
Jack Johnson is amazing. Yes, the name is weird, but still, it's very melodic and slow.
And Gorillaz, I have about 114 songs by them, so if you need some, just ask.
Daft Punk would also be cool too. Their older stuff is better for the radio though, less techno, more rock.

Pete, Daft Punk. What are other good songs do they have besides that one that Kanye West sampled?

Chris, stop being immature. It is really getting old.
Anyway, Glen. One More Time was pretty popular, so was Da Funk. Around the World was good too (it's like 7 minutes long though, and around the world are the only lyrics). Their whole Homework album is amazing, and then from Human After All, there is the song Technologic, and then Robot Rock. Both amazing. They have a lot of good songs, it is just people don't know about Daft Punk other than "The song Kanye West used."

Hey, I'm having quite enough of this....I do agree Chris is a fine kid but only to a point because who's the one that has to clean up after him? This is why we have moderators....they are suppose to look out for the harassment and remove it. I can't see how you can have the name of moderator if you provoke it. Everyone will have to settle down before more shit happens, cuz who has the final say?

Lol Petar your av. kicks ass. Will do Chris I'm getting sick of his anti-American views. Hmm maybe some Bruce Springsteen "Born in the USA" or John Mellencamp "R.O.C.K. in the USA".

By all means, play whatever you guys want. Whether music is good, bad, or just OK depends entirely on the listener. If you read my music-related posts over at the blog, you get a feel for what kind of stuff I like, so incorporate that if you wish. But put other's picks in there, too. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to music, and I love broadening my horizons anyway.
